Located in the centre of town, Rosalind Park is Bendigo’s premier park. It is a significant site for its historic trees, buildings, structures and landscapes that are reflective of Bendigo’s character. Retreat to its cool green lawns and fernery, walk its avenues, discover historic relics and structures and the displays in the unique conservatory. The Rosalind Park Precinct covers the entire block from Pall Mall, View Street, Barnard Street and Park Road. The precinct combines a wide variety of spaces and functions including the historic parkland, sporting facilities, schools and the Ulumbarra theatre. The precinct includes two major areas, Rosalind Park Upper featuring the Poppet Head and Queen Victoria Oval and Rosalind Park Lower featuring the heritage gardens and Chinese Precinct. Queen Elizabeth Oval is Bendigo’s premier sports oval. It is utilised for Australian Rules Football and cricket competition. The QEO is home to Sandhurst Football Netball Club, Bendigo Football Netball League, Bendigo District Cricket Association and annual Major Events. The oval has all-weather grass, Australian Football League standard lighting, an electronic scoreboard, a big screen and a facility-wide sound system. Tiered grandstand seating along with an historic grandstand with terraced seating that holds 900 people. Netball courts are located nearby. Also located within close proximity is Rosalind Park, The Capital, The Bendigo Art Gallery, Faith Leech Aquatic Centre and Tom Flood Sports Centre. Tom Flood Sports Centre is used for athletics and cycling, is an annual host of the Bendigo International Madison and many other major sporting and cultural events.
